Regent University

Regent University is a non-governmental Christian research university situated  in Virginia Beach , Virginia , United States . The university was established as Christian Broadcasting Network University  by Pat Robertson in the year 1977 , and became  Regent University in the year 1990.

 In  the year 2008 , A satellite campus was sold  which was situated in Alexandria, Virginia . Regent provides  a large distance education program in accordance  to its traditional  campus programs .  Regent provides related bachelor's , medical's  and master's  degrees in over 70 courses of study through it's 8  academic schools . 

The  University  was  recognized by  the  Southern Association of Colleges and Schools ,  and  additionally   recognized by CHEA (School of Education),  CoA (School of Psychology and Counseling) , ABA (School of Law) ,  and  CACREP ,  TEAC (School of Education),  ATS (School of Divinity)  , ACBSP  and ASEL (School of Business and Leadership).

The first class this university is  composed of seventy-seven students which began in fall of  the year 1978 and  when the school   leased  classroom space located  in Chesapeake, Virginia . The first students were all registered  in what is now the School of Arts  &  Communication . In  the month  of May  of the year 1980, the first graduating class took its commencement, while the School of Education was founded  the following October.

 At the same time, the university held residence for the it's students for the  first time on its current campus  located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The school  advanced  to open its schools of divinity , government , business ,  and law by the middle of the year 1980s . In the year 1984, Regent University got  recognition from the Southern Association of  Schools  and  Colleges.
